Pastoral, Medical & Social Support

All staff at school are trained to deliver ‘Rainbows’ which is a small group intervention that can be used with children who have suffered a loss or separation of parents. Also there are trained staff who are able to deliver ‘Listening Matters’, which is a 1:1 intervention for those children who may be struggling with emotional difficulties.

At Burnside Primary School we also buy in additional support from a Counselling Service to work 1:1 with those children we feel need some extra support. Staff are trained specifically to deal with various different medical needs and we are always willing to undertake new training when the needs arise.
